Texachem originated in 1987 producing Textile Adhesives, specifically PU elastomers in solutions for direct coating on fabric (light clothing), release coating on fabric, non-wovens for clothing, footwear, furniture and coagulation.

Nowadays, Texachem's Textile Business Area may count on these main 3 categories:

Coating Adhesives

are applied to fabrics to create a variety of finishes such as hydrolysis resistance, abrasion resistance, etc.

Coagulation Adhesives

are used to bind together to create non-woven materials.

Hot Melt Adhesives

are applied in a molten state and then cooled to form a strong bond

The Release or Transfer Coating process is used to create synthetic leather.

The process involves three steps:

Pre-skin coating

polyurethane is laid on a special paper (release) and dried
Pre-skin products are aliphatic PU elastomers with the following properties: good yellowing resistance | resistance to abrasion and hydrolysis | slipperiness to touch

Skin coating

polyurethane is deposited on pre-skin and dried
Skin products can be aliphatic or aromatic, and have the following characteristics: hydrolysis resistance | good to excellent flexibility

Adhesive Coating

polyurethane is laid on the skin, then the fabric is deposited on the adhesive and everything is dried in the oven.
Once it comes out of the oven, everything is unwound: the release paper can be reused several times and the resin-coated fabric (synthetic leather) is ready for further processing.

The adhesive, generally aromatic, has the following properties: good flexing resistance | hydrolysis resistance | abrasion resistance and good water permeability.

The Coagulation process is used to create a semi-finished product that can be used in a variety of applications.

The process involves two steps:

Impregnation

the fabric is impregnated with PU dissolved in a water-soluble solvent (DMF).

Precipitation

after impregnation, the fabric is immersed in water, resulting in precipitation of PU and formation of a polymer coating.
The resin is laid on the fabric and the solvent passes into the acqueous phase.
Subsequent treatments, depending on the features of the PU and amount of resin laid, determine its use.
In our portfolio we have high viscosity products and solutions hydrolysis resistant and highly flexible at low temperature.

Reactive Hot Melt are solid or semi-solid moisture-curing PUs at room temperature, with low content of free NCO.

The are known for their quick film forming properties and for their high green tack.
